Congressional Elections (August) (Political)

Report

As of this printing there are 36 candidates for Congress this month. Last election cycle we did a good job of putting the right people in Congress-laws were voted on quicker than ever before. This month we need more of the same. The last update on Congress Speed Scores can be found here .
Only 9 of the 14 remaining Congressmen are running for re election.
Of those 9, here is who to re-elect (in alphabetical order):

Dethicon , leader of the American Liberty Party, is someone Congress and the American people can count on to vote in a timely manner.

Jon Snow is a former CP who has angered some with his fighting tactics, but if nothing else is at least a quick and knowledgeable voter in Congress.

Sahbani , one of the USA's two Defense Officers, is one of Congress' fastest voters and one of America's greatest citizens. He is active on IRC and very willing to help others. You can't go wrong with a vote for Sahbani.

twezday77 is the VP and Defense Minister for the United States, one of Congress' fastest voters, and one of America's most active IRC participants. With a busy week of real life work ending today, he'll be back in full force to see the United States through to the finish.

xXBetancourtXx can be depended on to vote quickly and is one of America's most friendly and vocal team members, making him a great choice for re-eleciton.

Zoroi is one of Congress' top 4 fastest voters from last month. Known to be a vocal war hawk, Zoroi is one of America's better-known citizens, and makes a good Congressman.

Luckily there are no overly negative candidates running for re-election, which leads us to our next group.
These are the other candidates for re-election, listed in order of how positive their influence would be:

Mr X is well-known for his strong opinions, and to some that is alienating. It can be healthy for a country, however, to have these criticisms. If a law is proposed some time after the day change, Mr X will generally be around to vote on it, but unfortunately he is not dependable for laws proposed at other times. If he was, he'd be securely among the first group of candidates listed. As it is, I wavered back and forth on which group to put him in, but settled on underestimating him rather than overestimating. No matter what, however, whether I sang his praises or buried him in dirt, he'll certainly be in Congress next month, I guarantee it.

Andrej Danko certainly isn't inactive, but he does miss votes more than most of the other Congressmen, which is his drawback.

Moonshadow did not do as well with voting this month as he did in the previous month as Congressman. If he can get back to those old ways, he'll make for a good vote, otherwise he's more of a bubble candidate.

Now we move on to those seeking election from outside of Congress.
I'll start with who to elect (in alphabetical order):

blowfly was also unfortunately voted out of Congress last month when he shouldn't have been. A good, active citizen who votes in a timely manner.

j_jiffer is running for Congress once again. He has plenty of experience on other servers and we'd be honored to have him aboard in Congress here.

joujinu once again receives a positive rating in my Newspaper, as he is known to be an active citizen who would be a good addition to Congress.

Samysam508 can be found in IRC sometimes and is likely active enough to make a good Congressman.

Silverma shouldn't be on the outside looking in, having surprisingly lost in the previous elections. Known to be an active and fast-voting citizen.

stickss did well in Congress this past month until his unexplained departure. Hopefully this time he stickss around for the whole term (see what I did there?).

Now that isn't to say these other candidates can't be positive, too:

Ajeeb baat hai Raaja was a decent Congressmen after the June elections, and perhaps he can come around and be a decent Congressman again.

gouluk appears to be a decently active citizen, but we don't know much more about him than that.

Grag78 is one of many citizens whose name is recognizable, but whose overall activity level and dedication is unknown.

loka is outspoken, especially about his support for Egypt, and if he remains active enough he can make a good Congress member.

Kazuto has experience, though we don't see a lot of him in shouts or on IRC.

PakCha frequently asks for supplies, so he's not some sort of shadow citizen, but we still don't know enough about him to call him a great candidate.

SliferX isn't the most visible candidate, but after the June elections he became one of Congress' surprise active members, and perhaps would be able to repeat that feat.

Traxex had a positive influence on our weapons production system, but showed a disregard for American foreign policy, which places him here on the "maybe" list. Without the weapons program to keep him occupied anymore, his activity level is unknown.

WAKARANAI usually asks for supplies about every day, so we at least know he's there. Exactly how often and how dedicated he is would determine whether he is a good Congressman or not.

Zeno is another supply requester, but again, overall activity level is unknown.

Next up, who not to vote for:

TheMujka is still on a watch list due to his recent treasonous acts, and should take time to regain our trust before trying to run for office.

Luduan ByL is a citizen who simply can't be trusted, due to a history of RWs against the United States.

And finally, these are the unknown candidates. It's best not to vote for them and stick to positive candidates instead, at least until these candidates provide further information and/or prove themselves.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
